"God makes everything beautiful in His time" (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This profound truth serves as a reminder that the pursuit of worldly vanities can often distract us from the greater blessings that God has in store for us. While striving for achievement and pursuing noble causes are commendable, attempting to outrun God can lead to disappointment and unforeseen consequences.
God knows your desires; in fact, He likely placed them in your heart. He understands the perfect timing and methods for bringing those desires to fruition. Attempting to take control and act smarter than the Creator can lead to setbacks that might cost you something precious.
I remember a personal experience that highlighted this lesson. Years ago, I was misled by a man who promised me a position as the commandant of a paramilitary group. After several messages relayed through my secretary, I finally met him. He painted a compelling picture of a new agency, born from a Boy Scouts-like initiative, and expressed the need for someone to lead it spiritually.
Despite my usual practice of seeking God's guidance before committing to anything, my past fascination with the military clouded my judgment. I eagerly agreed to head the group, even providing initial funding. It wasn’t long before I discovered that the man was a fraud. My desire to be involved in a paramilitary organization had pushed me ahead of God’s plan. God had already intended for Redemption City to have its own corps of chaplains and a local police presence.
While I lost money in that venture, for someone else, the stakes could be much higher—potentially involving their life or the safety of a loved one.
The Bible clearly states that God delights in our well-being and prosperity (Psalm 35:27; 3 John 1:2). It is entirely acceptable to desire wealth and success, but we must remember that these blessings will come in God’s perfect timing.
So, beloved, as you navigate your dreams and aspirations, remember to follow God’s lead. Don’t rush ahead or attempt to outrun Him. Trust that He knows the best path for you and will fulfill your desires when the time is right.
