It was a big day for students, schools, and parents across Nigeria, as crucial decisions were made regarding this year’s admissions into tertiary institutions.


Here’s a breakdown of everything that went down:

✅ Official Cut-Off Marks for 2025 Admissions

JAMB, in collaboration with key education stakeholders, approved the following national minimum cut-off marks:

Universities – 150

Polytechnics and Colleges of Education – 100

Colleges of Nursing Sciences – 140


👉 Please note: Institutions still have the right to set their own (higher) cut-off marks, but they cannot go below these national minimums.

Wants to study Mechanical Engineering at UNILAG

2. Ayuba Simon-Peter John (Gombe) – 374

Applied to Afe Babalola University (ABUAD)

3. Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka (Kwara) – 373

Also chose UNILAG, same course: Mechanical Engineering

📌 Federal Government Sets Admission Age to 16

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, made it clear today that 16 years is the minimum age for admission into any Nigerian tertiary institution.
