BREAKING: Outrage Erupts as Stakeholders Protest Against Education Minister Over JAMB's New Minimum Admission Age of 18
At the ongoing policy meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), stakeholders and attendees are protesting as Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, announced that only candidates aged 18 and above would be admitted into the country’s tertiary institutions.
Prof. Mamman reiterated his stance that candidates under 18 were contributing to crises in universities, prompting open protests from participants at the event.
Following the minister's announcement at the Body of Benchers’ auditorium in Abuja, the attendees loudly protested, chanting, “No, no, no.”
Despite the outcry, the minister maintained his position, explaining that this was already a federal government policy aimed at addressing significant issues in tertiary institutions, particularly universities.
